People come to counselling for many reasons. Maybe you are struggling with anxiety or depression or have reached a crossroads. Maybe there’s something you need to change and you’d like to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. I have worked with people with a myriad of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, work-related stress and difficulties with relationships. I work with adults aged 18 and over and I’m experienced in both short-term counselling and longer term psychotherapy.

The relationship between therapist and client, rather than the modality, is the most significant factor in whether or not counselling helps, so it's important that we both feel that we click with each other. At our first meeting, we will decide whether we want to continue to work together and agree an initial timescale.

Appointments will be face to face, at the same time every week and will last 50 minutes. The cost is £65 per session. If you would like to enquire about counselling with me, please email me at deearmstrong.counselling@gmail.com or fill in the form on the contact page.

Couple therapy:

I am currently undergoing further advanced training in working with couples. For couples starting during this time, I am offering a reduced rate of £50 per 60 minute session (February 2026 to September 2026). The first assessment session which takes 90 minutes will cost £75. I am currently accepting new enquiries - please contact me for more details.

My counselling room is on George St in Edinburgh city centre.
